Mercè is a Catalan visual artist, based in Gothenburg. She works mostly with and from photography, at the intersection between site-making and local history, Torres Ràfols is interested in questions of cultural heritage and linguistic tradition. These questions are placed in a territory and become a site-specific visual investigation of how that place was traversed by time: The epistemology of a territory, how knowledge has trespassed and how we get to understand something anew. Investigating the history and stories of agriculture/fishing, time reckoning, and communication.
